In a time where tourists often care more about posting exciting photos to their social media accounts rather than being present in the true beauty and cultural significance of architectural wonders, “Petra Rules” aims to educate readers on the history behind the great city and offer a more meaningful way to explore all it has to offer. This magazine feature spread seeks to present the article in a clean and easy to read way, while still highlighting the skillful artwork of a lost civilization. The various graphic elements throughout the spread were digitally illustrated with stylistic inspiration taken from the ancient floor mosaics excavated in The Byzantine Church at Petra. This piece was awarded a Noteworthy designation for Design Excellence from the 2025 SPD-U Student Competition.
